Ex-Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko denies that he tried to influence the removal of former US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Jovanovic with the help of Giuliani associates Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman. He stated this in a commentary to Ukrainska Pravda.

“Giuliani introduced me to them. We talked on common topics. I didn’t have any business relations with them,” the ex-Prosecutor General said.

Moreover, Lutsenko emphasized that he did not have any agreements with Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudolf Giuliani and never persuaded him to any actions.

Earlier the American media reported that it was the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko who, according to U.S. prosecutors, urged two associates of Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani - namely, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman - to assist in the removal of the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.
According to the indictment, the efforts of Parnas and Fruman to remove Jovanovic from office "were made, at least in part, at the request of one or more Ukrainian government officials."

At the same time, neither in the indictment nor at the press conference did the federal prosecutors specify why an unnamed Ukrainian official or officials allegedly called on Parnas and Fruman to develop a scheme to remove Jovanovic.

We recall, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman were arrested on the evening of October 9. It was reported that they allegedly helped Giuliani to solve the "Ukrainian question." Later they were taken into custody with the possibility of bail. On October 11, businessmen were released on a one million bail.

Parnas and Fruman are accused of violating the rules of campaign financing in the United States.
