Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko officially asks the Ukrainian Parliament for authorization to bring to justice, detain and arrest a member of Parliament Stanislav Berezkin. The Press Secretary of Lutsenko Larysa Sarhan claimed this on Facebook.
She posted the copy of all three submissions on her page.
‘Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko filed submissions to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on granting consent for criminal prosecution, for granting consent for detention and for giving consent for the election of a measure of restraint in the form of detention (arrest) against People’s Deputy of Ukraine S.S. Berezkin,’ Sarhan claimed.
She reminded that Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) Nazar Kholodnytsky initiated the submissions.
As it was reported earlier, Solomiansky Court of Kyiv arrested Maksym Berezkin, the son of MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Stanyslav Berezkin. He is suspected in the embezzlement of $20 million of Ukraine's state-run Oschadbank funds and set the bail in the sum of $175,995.
On October 23, under the procedural control of SAP prosecutors, National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) detectives detained ten people who were served with charge papers concerning embezzling $20 million of Oshchadbank.
Earlier, it was reported that NABU and SAP were preparing a petition on lifting the immunity of the people’s deputy who illegally embezzled $20 million. According to Ukrainian News agency, it was about Stanislav Berezkin from 'Will of the Nation' group.
