Voting in the presidential elections has ended in Belarus and the data of the national exit poll have already become known, Belta reports.
According to the results of the national exit poll, conducted by the Mir TV and radio company, incumbent President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is gaining 79.7%. Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya was supported by 6.8%, Anna Kanopatskaya received 2.3% of the vote, Andrei Dmitriev - 1.1%, Sergei Cherechen - 0.9%. According to the exit poll, 9.2% of voters voted against all.
On the eve of the main elections, early voting took place in Belarus throughout the previous week. According to the Central Election Commission, 41.7% of people voted early.
Earlier current President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he was not sure of his victory in the presidential elections. Lukashenko said this in a commentary to TUT.by.
When asked by a journalist whether he was sure of his victory today, Lukashenko noted: “As for the confidence in my victory, I would not be so unambiguous. I just hope.”
In addition, when asked whether the president plans to run the next elections, Lukashenko replied: "If I am alive and well, I will answer whether I will run in the future."
