“We were forced with our brothers, close people (with Ukraine) to completely close the border. Uptight. Tighter than with the North Atlantic block, which has always been, for a long time, enemy number one…,” Lukashenko stated.
He emphasized that such measures are connected with the strong flow of weapons from Ukraine.
“The flow of weapon flooded. And where the weapon in the hand of common people…especially nationalist-minded – wait for terrorism,” the Belarusian president added.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with his Belarus counterpart Aleksander Lukashenko. Lukashenko invited the President of Ukraine to visit Minsk at any time and in any format. Volodymyr Zelensky accepted the invitation.
Zelensky also confirmed the invitation to Lukashenko asking to visit Ukraine within the Second Forum of Belarussian and Ukrainian Regions which will take place in Zhytomyr in October 2019. Alexander Lukashenko accepted the invitation emphasizing that as the initiator and co-author of this event he sees its high effectiveness and advantage for the economies of both countries.
