President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko asks the Ukrainian government to send opposition activists Ivan Kravtsov and Anton Rodnenkov back to Belarus. Interfax news agency reports this, quoting Lukashenko's interview for the Russian media.
"We're asking Ukrainian border guards to return these two to our country; we'll be figuring out what happened", Lukashenko said.
He blamed the opposition leaders for violating the order of border crossing, saying they were "hiding" in the neighboring country. Lukashenko assumed that Kravtsov and Rodnenkov who drove a car just "tossed" their associate, one of the opposition leaders Mariya Kolesnikova out of the car.
"The border is under boosted security, so we set a post there. Naturally, they were stopped. They hit the pedal to the floor, and they must have tossed her out of the car - well, while driving", Lukashenko said.
As is known, Kolesnikova remains in the State Border Committee of Belarus.
She never crossed the Ukrainian borders, as she tore her passport apart when the Border Guards tried to deport her forcefully.
On September 8, it became known that members of Coordination Council Anton Rodnenkov and Ivan Kravtsov departed for Ukraine. Mariya Kolesnikova was detained on the border.
