Londoners demand Theresa May’s resignation

Leader of the opposition Labor Party Jeremy Corbyn held a speech before the activists saying the government's program particularly cruel to the poorest population

Several thousand people in London marched against the policy of UK Prime Minister Theresa May. There were calls for the resignation of the government, Radio Svoboda reports.

“Demonstrators gathered near BBC headquarters. They carried posters with calls to stop the policy of reducing public expenditure – including for health sector and the police,” the message says.

According to the agency, after that the activists went to the Parliament Square where the leader of the opposition Labor Party Jeremy Corbyn held a speech. He said the government's program particularly cruel to the poorest population.

The protest was organized by the trade unions.

As it was reported earlier Theresa May to visited Elizabeth II to ask for permission to form government. According to the latest data, the British Conservative party will get 318 of 650 seats and the Labour Party – 261.
