Local elections in Ukraine: Police already opened 10 criminal cases

In 17 regions of Ukraine, voting at the elections to the united territorial communities takes place

Since the beginning of the voting, the police received 23 reports of violations, of which 10 criminal cases were opened. The crimes are investigated in Zaporizhya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolayiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Poltava regions, reports the Communications Department of the National Police.

In particular, it is a violation under Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery of the voter), as well as art. 158 (Falsification of election documents).

We recall, the voting takes place at 391 precinct election commissions within 51 territorial districts.

In these localities, the vote is to be cast for choosing 256 local councils. According to preliminary information, over 356.000 voters are eligible for the election.

Last time local elections in Ukraine were held on Oct. 29.
