Ukrainian Military Prosecutor’s Office reported busting several illegal farms for mining cryptic currency in various locations across the country. It appeared that these farms were used for funding pro-Kremlin militants in eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios said this at a briefing.

‘We conducted a number of searches in Kyiv, Kyiv region and Cherkasy. Based on the results, we ceased the activity of several farms for mining cryptic currency. Part of the money was transferred via Kiwi and Yandex.Money, the e-services that are officially banned in Ukraine. They went to fund illegal armed formations of the so-called DPR and LPR – to purchase equipment, ammunition and weapons,’ Matios said.

The farms were illegally linked to a power line and located in storages. The equipment and documents were seized and sent for expertise.
