The recent American military maneuvers in the Black Sea sought to divide Russia and Europe. Konstantin Gavrilov, the leader of the Russian delegation at the talks for military security and arms control in Vienna said so as cited by TASS

"I believe, the main goal of the U.S. and Kyiv regime that is out of ideas how to act now... it's to divert the attention from problems in Ukraine itself. As for Americans, they must be wanting to drive a wedge between Europe and Russia with a little fray. They don't care about the results. This is why they need all these maneuvers and intimidations", he said.

He also claimed that Russia is not going to go for such provocations, and the country's government "is well aware of everything and keeps the situation under control".

"We can negotiate easily, persuade them before certain moment takes place when they (Western governments, - 112 International) lose their minds. We do everything for this [moment] not to happen", he added.
