Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė supports the expansion and strengthening of sanctions against Russia. She said this the day before the EU Summit, reports Delfi.
Grybauskaitė believes that a part of Donbas is being de facto incorporated into the Russian Federation. She also condemned the introduction of Russian currency on the occupied Donbas territories.
“This is an actual occupation of the country. Undoubtedly, that’s the reason why the sanctions must be strengthened, expanded and easing the sanctions is out of question,” she stressed.
As it was reported earlier Poroshenko thanks Grybauskaite for Lithuania’s solidarity with Ukrainian people. The joint position with Lithuania on the formation of the Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian team is today an extremely useful tool for the exchange of experience.
