The government of Lithuania is estimating the possibility of the international court process against President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko due to the treatment of migrants as Delfi reported citing Foreign Minister of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis.

According to Landsbergis, the government has already started the discussion on the creation of the working group. The group will estimate the possibility of such a statement.

“I would like to underline that this working group, which will estimate how this process should develop in the future; we do not talk about the statement but the estimation of the possibility of such statement,” Gabrielius Landsbergis said.

He also added that it is too early to state what actions should be assumed toward Lukashenko.

“It is quite a premature issue; the statement can be provided toward Lukashenko himself and toward the regime; it is possible to file (lawsuit) against the state; I know that the discussions have just begun. The professional estimation of all possibilities with involvement of international experts will take place,” the minister said.

Earlier, Lithuania claimed that Belarusian law enforcers have been using the new tactics of sending the migrants to the border.
