Head of the Radical Party of Ukraine Oleg Lyashko stormed into the hall of the Cabinet of Ministers, interrupting the session.
The scandalous politician, surrounded by his comrades from the Radical Party demanded that the government cancel its decision to extend the deal with the board of directors of NJSC Naftogaz, the leading energy company for another year. Lyashko also insisted that the head of the board Andriy Kobolev return the funds that he and his associates 'withdrew to offshore zones', as he put it.
Lyashko approached the microphone and began to shout into it. Groysman turned off the microphone and then the dispute took place between the prime minister and MP.
“On what basis did you extend the contract with the thief? Your security has just beaten an 84-year-old woman near the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Why did you do it? It is you, who turned the country into the circus; you who robbed the country; you paid $55,2 million of rewards to Kobolev and did not return this money. You pay million-dollar salary, million-dollar rewards. Our demand to the government is not to extend the contract with Head of Naftogaz Kobolev,” Lyashko appealed to Groysman.
The MP asked the government “to adopt a law here and today, which allows the families to pay for public utility not more than 15% from the incomes”.
“Zubko, do not laugh; you will finish badly. There will be no Petro in a month (Poroshenko, - 112 international); I will see where you are going to be. Do you see, it is so funny to them? Because they have huge salaries and they live normally. They have robbed country for five years; now they are imitating the fight against poverty in a month before the elections; they think people are so stupid that they will be elected again. Who will elect you? You will not be elected to a collective farm,” Lyashko said.
In his turn, Groysman called the MP’s behavior “super rude”.
“First of all, it’s super rude – breaking into the conference room, it’s completely rude, super barbaric, short-tempered and unethical. Well, I think, it’s not for you – break in the room, come in and start screaming. Didn’t I let you in? What are you saying? A little respect here, please. How do I know when you want to come here? Everyone follows his duties. The public guard department has its obligations. You break in here, you have immunity, don’t you? You are such cool MPs. I don’t hit people, I love people. Moreover, I love them sincerely, not just on TV. I walk on the ground and meet people just as you do. Probably a little less now, as you have huge audience now, you need to care about your election campaign, you want to become a president,” Groysman responded.
Lyashko replied interrogatively: “Do you mind?” and added that unlike the government, he “has never increased gas prices, he never continued contacting the enemies and never lied to people”.
As of Wednesday noon, the government meeting was suspended.
After the long-lasting verbal face-off, Lyashko left the hall and the session resumed.
