Le Pen offers to suspend French membership in Schengen

Presidential candidate supports deportation of foreigners from the list of Islamist radicals

Marine Le Pen, the famous far-right politician who’s now running for presidency in France offered a number of tough measures in domestic and foreign policy. Interfax-Ukraine reported that on Wednesday morning.

Specifically, the candidate intends to suspend her country’s membership in the Schengen area and to restore border control procedures at border checkpoints. If she wins the election, she’s also going to deport foreigners whose names are on the list of Islamist radicals.

The first round of presidential election in France is scheduled for April 23; the second is to take place on May 7.
