The lawyer will visit Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov at the end of this month. Lyudmyla Denisova, the Human Rights Envoy of the Ukrainian Parliament reported this on Tuesday. She added that, according to her Russian colleague, Sentsov’s current health conditions are satisfactory. On the other hand, the Ukrainian side does not trust this information, since Sentsov had health issues even before the hunger strike, which ended last month.

As is known, Sentsov was judged and sentenced to 20-years-long imprisonment in Russia, as the judges found him guilty of preparing a terrorist act in the annexed Crimea. Sentsov’s hunger strike began in May 2018, as he demanded that Russia release all Ukrainian political prisoners.

Reportedly, Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov was awarded Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. The decision was announced by the European Parliament on October 25. It is supposed that the official ceremony is to be held in Strasbourg on December 12.
