Lawyer of ex-president Petro Poroshenko, Ihor Holovan believes that the State Investigation Bureau (SIB) needs polygraph testing for questioning of his client to conceal the absence of the evidence of Poroshenko’s crimes, as Ukrayinska Pravda reported.
“The current story with polygraph is solely a publicity stunt, which should conceal the absence of the evidence of any crimes or offenses by the investigation for a while,” the lawyer underlined.
Holovan noted that Poroshenko visited the SIB investigators twice as a witness in case of Kuznia na Rybalskomy plant and Pryamy TV channel and the questions of the interrogators proved that the criminal proceedings were opened with the absence of any offense.
He believes that the SIB investigators ban the lawyers of Poroshenko to comment on the questionings because they want to conceal the absence of his guilt.
Holovak emphasized that “Petro Poroshenko will not go toward the whim of Kremlin initiator and biased investigators.”
Petro Poroshenko came for an interrogation at the State Investigations Bureau on August 12. Entering the main building of the SIB in Kyiv, the ex-president refused to reply to reporters' questions.
He was interrogated within the criminal proceeding on the possible tax evasion during the sales and purchase of Pryamy TV channel.
Later Poroshenko stated that he was ready to undertake questioning on a polygraph on the air of Pryamy TV channel.
On August 13, the court provided the permission to check Poroshenko at polygraph.
