Lavrov says about renewal of Normandy Four talks

He emphasized that the Minsk agreements remain the sole document that can help de-escalate the tensions

Head of Russian MFA Sergey Lavrov said that the contacts at the level of advisors to the Presidents of the Normandy Four will shortly renew, as TASS reports sourcing his interview for a Belarus TV channel. 

He emphasized that the complex of measures approved in Minsk in February 2015 “was unanimously approved by the UNSC and remains the sole document that can help de-escalate the tensions”.

“I think, we will continue our efforts, including with the help of the Minsk agreements, which still helps during negotiations of the contact group, and which will soon renew at the level of advisors to the Presidents of the Normandy Four,” he said,

Last time the talks in the Normandy Format were held over the phone on Aug. 22, 2017. Then the parties discussed the cease-fire regime in Donbas before the new academic year beginning.
