Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov thoroughly discussed situation in Donbas during Munich Security Conference.
This was reported by the press service of the EU Foreign Affairs department.
Mogherini reaffirmed unyielding support of Minsk agreement by the European Union and stressed the responsibility of Russia in this context. She also pledged EU’s participation in the work of Normandy format and OSCE, according to the message.
"Mogherini and Lavrov also exchanged views on issues they are addressing jointly, from the need to preserve the Iran nuclear deal to the Middle East peace process and the work of the Quartet they are both part of. They also discussed the situation in Libya and Afghanistan," the announcement reads.
Sides discussed the settlement of conflict in Syria.
As it was reported earlier, US Vice-President Michael Pence announced that United States will do everything necessary to make Russia respect Minsk agreement, and reach de-escalation in Donbas particularly.
