'After Russia announced the missile tests, Latvian defense ministry asked the Russian side to give as much information about the tests as possible, including which kinds of missiles will be used and which measures will be taken to provide security', the message reads.
Russia claimed the missile tests are a part of military drills, and all the necessary security measures will be taken; however, no more questions were answered.
Previously, Russian Centre for Management of Air Traffic informed the Latvian government that the Russian Navy would hold missile tests over Latvia's exclusive economic area in the Baltic Sea.
