The Justice Minister of Estonia Urmas Reinsalu and Justice Minister of Latvia Dzintars Rasnacs emphasized the importance of the consideration of the possibilities on the bringing of the claim on the recovery of money to Russia as the successor of the Soviet Union as ERR reported.
According to the joint statement of two governments signed on the results of the session, both states commemorate the victims of the occupation regimes and give value to the cooperation in the perpetuation and consideration of the historical heritage to provide the security, democracy and principles of the legal state in Estonia and Latvia.
Due to this, the justice ministers of two countries emphasized the importance of the preservation of memory about the human damage caused by the Soviet occupation and consideration of the possibilities to present the requirement on the recovery of money to the Russian Federation as the successor of the Soviet Union.
Estonian Justice Minister Urmas Reinsalu presented the judicial studies of the possible further steps on this issue from the point of view of the international law to his Latvian colleague.
Dzintars Rasnacs, in his turn, presented the possible measures that can be assumed at the UN level.
