Ukraine intends to start implementing energy efficiency measures in 2022. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on his Facebook page.

"In 2022, the government plans to launch a large-scale program of energy modernization of the country," Denys Shmyhal wrote.

According to him, the implementation of energy efficiency measures in the utilities sector can provide up to $ 1.5 billion in savings annually. The Prime Minister also noted that the launch of such a program is a matter of economic development, and better preparation for the heating season, and reducing the amount of payments.

Meanwhile, as of today, Ukraine has enough gas in the underground storage facilities for a calm passage of the heating season. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in Odesa.

"Regarding the heating season, I want to assure that both trips to the regions by our team and statistics demonstrate 100% readiness for the heating season in Ukraine. We have more than 18.5 billion cubic meters of gas in our storage facilities, which is quite enough for this year's heating season," Shmyhal said.
