Embassy of Ukraine is preparing an official note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland concerning the burnt Ukrainian flag on the "March of independence" in Warsaw. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy Chargé d'Affaires in Poland Vasyl Zvarych, Ukrinform reports.

Zvarych said that the Embassy of Ukraine is preparing an official note to the Polish Foreign Ministry concerning the incident.

"Of course it hurts to see such shameful actions. I think that the vast majority of Polish people who are friendly towards Ukrainians were also disgusted to watch the burning of the flag. The actions which offended national symbols of the sovereign, and in particular friendly neighbor state, which Ukraine is, are unacceptable and must not take place in a country with which we develop a strategic partnership," - Zvarych said.

He emphasized that the Ukrainian side expects "urgent response to this shameful act of vandalism" from the Polish side.

Ukrainian diplomat expressed hope that these individuals "will be punished and such incidents would not repeat in future."
