“I sincerely congratulate Joe Biden on winning the US presidential election. I had the honor to meet with him both in the United States and Ukraine. And I respect him as a person and as a politician who consistently supports Ukraine in countering Russian aggression and in the reform process. Joe Biden knows our country well and is its sympathizer," the message reads.
Klitschko also said that he believes in the progress of partnership between Ukraine and the United States, as well as effective cooperation in Ukraine's struggle for territorial integrity, the implementation of necessary reforms and democratic transformations.
As we reported earlier, democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was able to get the 270 electoral votes, needed to win the election.
Joe Biden has come out ahead in most key states. So far, this does not mean an official victory, since the electoral college will elect the US president only on December 14.
According to CNN, 273 electors voted for Joe Biden, while only 213 voted for Donald Trump.
