Kurz urges Russia to return to talks on settlement of Donbas Conflict

Federal Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz has urged Russia to return to the negotiation table on the settlement of the Donbas Conflict. He claimed this on the results of the meeting with the Ukrainian president as 112 Ukraine reported.

“I want to appeal to Russia with the urge to return to the negotiations table as this return is necessary also in the Normandy Format. If there is not enough progress, it is necessary anyway because it is the only existing format to find a peaceful solution,” Kurz claimed.

Also, he reported that Austria will provide 1 million euro to “Caritas” organization for the support of the people at the east of Ukraine.

“The Austrian Republic will continue to provide money to support the people at the east of Ukraine and we agreed to provide one more million of euro to such organization as “Caritas” that will provide help and make at least a little contribution for the reduction of grief at the east of Ukraine,” Kurz added.

As we reported President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko claimed that 2019 will be declared a year of the Ukrainian culture in Austria. Also, Ukraine’s President expressed the hope that Ukraine and Austria will continue the cooperation at all levels and invited the Austrian president to visit the Ukrainian state.
