'I understand that Russians who are convicted and located in Ukraine want to get back to their homeland. Although, we are not aware of the readiness of the Ukranian side to take steps for this,' Peskov claimed.
Peskov has also claimed that he didn't know that a number of Russians kept in Ukrainian prisons wrote an appeal addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to exchange them for the Ukrainians kept in detention facilities in Russia.
The Representative of the Kremlin added that everything depends precisely on whom we are talking about.
'If it is about the convicted in accordance with our legislation of Russian citizens, there are many nuances. Yet the Ukrainian side is not demonstrating necessary readiness and flexibility,' Peskov explained.
As it was reported earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was ready to pardon the Russians who are kept I Ukraine in exchange for the Ukrainian political prisoners in the Russian Federation.
Reportedly, Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova claimed that 22 Russians sent a message to Putin with a request to exchange for the Ukrainian political prisoners.
