Russia refuses to discuss the return of annexed Crimea to Ukraine in Normandy format, or in any other formats. This was stated by spokesman for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov in response to the words of the Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky about his intention to put the Crimean issue for discussion at the Normandy format summit. Interfax reports this.

According to Peskov, the issue of the Crimea’s affiliation "was closed in due time."

"The reasons for this (the Crimean issue, - ed.) are well known, the forerunner of this is also well known to everyone, and any other discussions in any formats are impossible," Peskov said.

Earlier, President Zelensky, during a press marathon, promised to raise the issue of the de-occupation of Crimea at a meeting. According to Zelensky, it is impossible to return Crimea by military means. Also, then the president said that he has options for the date of Normandy fornat summit, but negotiations between Germany and France will take place. The countries will agree on the dates and offer them to the Russian side.

On October 1, Ukraine announced the approval of the text of Steinmeier formula in response to a letter from the OSCE Special Representative to the Tripartite Contact Group, Martin Sajdik.

As reported, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is exploring the possibility of participating in the summit after the signing of "Steinmeier formula" by the Ukrainian side.
