Kremlin hopes that the administration of Donald Trump will signal to Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine of necessity to implement the Minsk Agreement during the meeting. Dmitriy Peskov, the speaker of the President of Russia claimed this, according to Interfax.
Also, Peskov claimed that this visit concerns bilateral American-Ukrainian relations.
‘Of course, we want to hope that these contacts will be used by our American colleagues at the high level to send to Kyiv powerful signal of necessity to implement the Minsk Agreement’, he claimed.
Peskov noted that ‘if requested Washington can find out more about all nuances and obligations of Kyiv in accordance with the signed agreements’.
Kremlin’s representative did not comment on the format of the meeting of Trump and Poroshenko.
‘The organization of the contacts of the Presidents of the USA and Ukraine is not our concern and moreover, we should not comment on it’, Peskov said.
