Kremlin reported that the seized Ukrainian ships are the “physical evidence.” Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson of the Russian President, made such statement answering the question on the location of the Ukrainian artillery boats “Berdyansk,” “Nikopol,” and “Yany Kapu” tugboat in occupied Kerch as UNIAN reported.
“I cannot answer your question. It is not the subject of attention (of Kremlin, - 112.international). It is, rather, the prerogative of the investigative bodies, which hold the investigation and charge and you need to appeal to them to get to know it. As far as we know, these boats are the physical evidence and they are relevant to the investigated case,” Peskov said.
“I cannot tell where they are, you have to appeal to the investigative bodies,” he added.
Earlier, the media reported that the Ukrainian boats were towed from the place where they docked after the seizure. Only the tugboat was left there. However, there is no official confirmation of this information.
As we reported earlier, the coast guard ships of the Russian Navy acted aggressively against the ships of the Ukrainian Navy, which have been carrying out a scheduled transition from Odesa port to Mariupol port in the Sea of Azov.
It was also reported that Ukrainian sailors detained in Kerch Strait were transferred from annexed Crimea to Moscow prison.
On December 3, the Russian prosecutors officially accused Ukrainian sailors with the 'illegal crossing of the state border' during the Kerch Strait incident.
