The visit of Sigmar Gabriel, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany and Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine to Donbas fell through due to the weather conditions as Klimkin reported at Twitter.
‘The weather conditions did not allow us to visit the demarcation line but did not hinder the constructive communication with Sigmar Gabriel, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany. We plan to perform the joint visit to Donbas later in January’, Klimkin wrote.
Earlier the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported that the German and Ukrainian Foreign Ministers set out to Donbas but at the moment they are in Dnipro.
According to the forecasters, the heavy fall of rain and the temperature 2-4 above zero are expected in the East of Ukraine on January 4.
As we reported Sigmar Gabriel will pay the work visit to Ukraine on January 3-4 and he will visit Donbas with Pavlo Klimkin, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister. The key point of the negotiations will be the role of Germany and France within the Normandy Format. Also, they will discuss the further joint steps to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine, to release the political prisoners detained in the Russian prisons.
