Ukraine’s foreign minister Pavlo Klimkin held negotiations with his U.S. counterpart Rex Tillerson, while on the working visit to the States on March 6 through 7. The official shared with the press about the course of the bilateral talks.
‘We discussed further contacts and ways to counter the Russian aggression. The U.S. side has clearly stated that there will be no ‘trading’ Ukraine in any way – formal, informal, fancy or any other way. The Ukraine-related issues will be discussed and solved separately from other important questions. The U.S. find these issues fundamentally important’, Klimkin said as quoted by Voice of America.
The officials agreed to arrange a forthcoming meeting of Ukraine’s and U.S. presidents.
‘The Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that the U.S. will continue to support Ukraine, while the sanctions will remain in place – until Russia fully complies with Minsk agreements, releases Donbas and Crimea and ceases the military aggression,’ the minister said.
