US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in an interview with Channel News Asia said that the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un must determine the time for final nuclear disarmament himself. This is what they agreed with Donald Trump at the meeting on June 12.

"The final terms of denuclearization will be determined by President Kim at least in part, this is his decision. The world should feel calmer than before the summit between the two leaders when we had a difficult situation with the launching of missiles, nuclear tests. None of this has not happened since June 12," Pompeo said.

However, he added that the sanctions against Pyongyang will continue until the complete nuclear disarmament of the Korean peninsula.

"All countries supported the UN Security Council resolution, and these sanctions will continue until we achieve full denuclearization of North Korea. It does not matter what progress is made until these sanctions remain, "Pompeo said.

According to the State Department, "the whole world expects that Kim Jong-un will adhere to denuclearization."
