Malyshev factory, a state-owned manufacturer of heavy equipment in Kharkiv, has produced only one tank for the Ukrainian army since 2009. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during his working meeting in Kharkiv on the issues of work Ukroboronprom State Defense Concern.
“I'm shocked. The director said that only one tank has been built at the plant since 2009. In Soviet times, production capacity was 900 per year. What is happening with our company?” Zelensky said.
The president added that the factory has salary arrears too.
“I would like us to close all debts as soon as possible. The Prime Minister needs to bring together the entire government, all the law enforcement agencies. Why can we do something for Thailand, but we cannot do it for ourselves. We have great engineers, but they do nothing,” Volodymyr Zelensky noted.
In addition, in winter, factory workers are forced to work at zero temperature.
“We treat workers very badly, and then they complain that they do not like power, they are leaving Ukraine. We need to hold a meeting, set a date as quickly as possible before winter comes. People should not work in such conditions,” Zelensky stated.
As it was reported, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is in Kharkiv today, on November 6, with a working visit.
As we reported early, Ukraine will get the first batch of sniper rifles from Canada in a few weeks. Ukrainian and Canadian diplomats discussed the special mechanism of the consultations at the level of the defense ministers on the necessities of the Ukrainian army to make Ottawa understand, which supplies should be provided. The first contact of such nature will take place at the end of November.-
