Kadyrov’s Facebook and Instagram blocked due to U.S. sanctions

Ramzan Kadyrov, the pro-Russian president of the Chechen Republic reported trouble when trying to access his Facebook account and Instagram channel.

According to The Moscow Times, the Chechen leader fell under U.S. sanctions for a number of criminal violations.

‘Kadyrov complained on Friday that his popular Facebook and Facebook-owned Instagram accounts had been blocked. Two days earlier, he was placed on the U.S. Magnitsky list for allegedly orchestrating human rights abuses including torture and murder in Russia's Muslim-majority North Caucasus republic,’ the outlet wrote.
