Joe Biden has come out ahead in most key states. So far, this does not mean an official victory, since the electoral college will elect the US president only on December 14.
According to CNN, 273 electors voted for Joe Biden, while only 213 voted for Donald Trump.
"After four long tense days, we have reached a historic moment in this election. Now we can predict who will be the winner of the presidential race. According to journalists, Joseph Biden has been elected the 46th President of the United States," the American television channel CNN reported.
It is also reported that the current US President Donald Trump is going to challenge the election results in courts. But the chances of Biden becoming the next US president are very high.
Trump said that the final result of the presidential election in the United States will be determined by the decision of the Supreme Court.
The counting of votes in the US presidential elections is still ongoing. Ballot processing in Arizona will continue until the end of the weekend. State Secretary of State Katie Hobbs announced this in an interview with CNN.
According to her, in Arizona there are from 250 000 to 270 000 ballots left to count.
"They (the state district election commissions) told us that they expect to count before the end of the weekend," said Katie Hobbs.
Earlier it was reported that in Arizona remained unprocessed about 285 000 ballots, of which 204 000 are ballots intended for voting by mail. Earlier in Arizona, Biden was slightly ahead of Trump. Also in four US states - Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania and North Carolina the counting of votes after the presidential election continues.
