Jobbik party is organizer of rally for Zakarpattia self-determination

The planned rally is not an official attitude of the Hungarian Government

The Hungarian far-right party Jobbik is the organizer of the rally 'Self-determination for Zakarpattia'. Speaker of the Zakarpattia City State Administration Yaroslav Galas claimed this to 112 Ukraine.

According to him, the rally is planned near the Ukrainian Embassy in Budapest on the evening of October 13. The Government of Hungary has no concern with this action.

'There is the information that the rally will take place tomorrow near the Embassy of Ukraine to Hungary in Budapest. It will be organized by Jobbik Party that is oppositional. This rally cannot be considered as the official attitude of the Hungarian Government. The aim of it is the disputes connected with the 'Law on Education', he claimed.

Galas noted that the Hungarian authorities cannot forbid the holding of the event as there is no threat for the security or mass unrests.

'Also, the rally against the General Consulate of Hungary in Uzhgorod is planned for tomorrow. The written application is enough to hold it or the application made by phone. Only court can forbid such rally and only if there is a threat for the health or mass clashes', Galas said.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry got the notification on the holding of the rally 'Self-determination for Zakarpattia' on October 11. The Ukrainian side sent a note of the protest to Budapest.

Earlier Hungary demanded the reconsideration of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU due to the 'Law on Education'.
