Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to supply every army brigade in Donbas combat area with U.S. anti-tank missile launchers, the Javelins. Ruslan Khomchak, the Supreme Commander of Ukraine's Armed Forces said so as quoted by ArmiyaInform.
"Currently, on the base of a brigade that completes training, we actively develop the tactics of the use of Javelins. They are working on skills of crews of this anti-tank missile launchers. I would like to see to it in person that our warriors can effectively use these launchers", Khomchak said.
The officer refused to repy to the question how many Javelins are there in the Ukrainian army, adding it was classified information.
Khomchak also said Ukrainian military is being trained for assault actions in the urban area.
On June 24, the batch of FGM-148E missiles one of the latest modifications of the anti-tank missile complex Javelin were supplied to Ukraine’s Armed Forces as the Defense Minister of Ukraine reported.
“On June 16, 2020, the first batch of the cargo on the contract signed in December 2019 was supplied to Ukraine within the U.S. government program International military sales, particularly: missiles for anti-tank missile complexes Javelin and auxiliary equipment for the total sum of over $27 million,” the ministry stated.
