Japan PM: Sanctions against Russia should not be removed before Minsk agreements

Parubiy thanked for Japan’s support and expressed hope that the G7 will influence Russia in case of continuing aggression

The sanctions against the Russian Federation should not be removed before the Minsk Agreements will be fully implemented. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe during a conversation with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy, the press service of the Parliament reports.

Verkhovna Rada Chairman thanked Japan for its support of territorial integrity of Ukraine, reforms and investments in the Ukrainian economy.

"It is very important that sanctions continue, and if Putin's aggression does not stop, then they should be amplified", Parubiy said.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities have to reform all spheres of public life, at the same time defend from the Russian aggression. He noted that Japan's support is important both economically and symbolically.

"Ukraine welcomes your effort and initiative, which deals with changes to the Constitution of Japan in terms of the strengthening of the security forces", said Parubiy.
