Italy declines EU bid to recognize Guaido as president of Venezuela

Italy declined the proposition of EU to recognize the leader of Venezuelan opposition Juan Guaido as the head of the only democratically chosen body of the power of Venezuela, Reuters reported.

The EU countries have been discussing how to solve the Venezuela crisis for a couple of days, 10 counties have recognized the leader after the deadline ends when president Nicolas Maduro declares new presidential elections. Italy has declined the EU project, according to which the recognition of Guaido is the national prerogative.
