The Embassy of Ukraine in Italy published the official letter to the local RAI TV channel due to the insulting remarks of the host of L’Eredita show who stated that Little Russia (Malorossiya) is the second name of Ukraine, as the embassy’s Facebook reported.
“Due to the incorrect and even insulting remarks of the host of L’Eredita show at RAI TV channel (on January 26, 2020) that Little Russia is the second name of Ukraine, the management of the TV and Radio Company was reported about the firm position of the embassy on the necessity to correct such actions. Considering the fact that the RIA TV channel did not provide any response, it was decided to make such diplomatic steps public and post the letter on the official page of the embassy,” the message said.
The published letter explains the origin of the term Little Russia and the obscenity of its use toward Ukraine as it suffers from Russian aggression.
As we reported earlier, the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington urged the American newspaper The New York Times, which published the map of Ukraine without Crimea, to correct the mistake and "not to play into the hands of Russian information propaganda as the embassy reported on Facebook."
“It expects the prompt response of the journalists of the influential newspaper, which is intended to provide the truth to the American and world society," the embassy noted.
Later, the American news agency of The New York Times corrected a photo of a map of Ukraine without Crimea.
