Italian Foreign Ministry urges to fulfill Minsk Agreements

Angelino Alfano, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy urged all sides of the Donbas Conflict to fulfill the Minsk Agreements. He claimed this in the statement dedicated to the chairmanship in the OSCE as the press service of the organization reported.

'The crisis in and around Ukraine has called into question the very principles on which the OSCE is based. Italy will continue to support all OSCE efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict and urges the sides to fully implement the Minsk agreements,' Alfano said.

According to him, the main priorities of Italy during the chairmanship in the OSCE will be shared challenges require common solutions that will revive the ‘spirit of Helsinki and further strengthening of the peace, security, stability and cooperation.

Also, Italy intends to strengthen the work of the OSCE in the direction of other protracted conflicts.

The OSCE is the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe that is the largest organization on the security in the world. It unites 57 countries in North America, Europe and Central Asia. The OSCE SMM works in Ukraine since March 2014 when the government of Ukraine appealed to the OSCE. SMM is the non-armed civilian mission that works 24/7 in all Ukrainian regions. Its main aims are the impartial and objective observation of the situation in Ukraine, reports on it and provision of the dialogue between all sides of the conflict.
