A militant formation located in the Gaza Strip fired a missile towards Israel. The anti-aircraft defense system Iron Shield intercepted the projectile, Israeli military reports.
The military did not specify the area, from which the projectile was launched; there are also no reports on any retaliatory strikes by Israel.
Earlier, Israeli government announced an emergency in the country's northern districts due to the shooting on the border with Lebanon. Several groups of militants were spotted in this area.
Meanwhile, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin intends to strengthen his country's navy with cutting-edge hypersonic weapons, specifically Tsirkon missiles. He stated this at the main naval parade in St. Petersburg, Interfax reports.
"The unique advantages and increased combat capabilities of the fleet will be achieved through the widespread introduction of advanced digital technologies, such as the hypersonic strike systems, analogs of which cannot be found anywhere in the world, unmanned submarines, and through the most effective means of defense," Putin said.
