Israel has appointed Michael Brodsky as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine. Brodsky posted this on his Facebook.

"The Israeli government approved my candidacy for the post of ambassador to Ukraine today," he wrote.

According to the Israeli media, Brodsky, who is Israel's ambassador to Kazakhstan, will start working as Israel's ambassador to Ukraine in the coming weeks.

Before Brodsky, the ambassador of Israel to Ukraine was Joel Lion for the last 3 years.

Michael Brodsky was born in 1972 in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 1990, he and his family moved to Israel, where he received a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in diplomacy and national security at the Tel Aviv University.

In 2003-2008, he worked as a press attaché at the Israeli Embassy in Moscow and as a political attaché at the Israeli Embassy in Moscow from 2006 to 2008.

In 2009-2013, he served as Public Relations Director at the Israeli Embassy in London. From 2015 to 2018, he worked as the Israeli Ambassador to Kazakhstan.

As it was reported earlier, the Embassy of Ireland opened in Ukraine.
