Israel counts on the support of Ukraine in the election to the UN Security Council in 2018. The Minister of Environmental Protection, the Head of Intergovernmental Commission on Development of International Affairs between Ukraine and Israel Ze’ev Elkin claimed this to Interfax-Ukraine.
According to the minister, the dialogue on cooperation in the UN and other international organization took place between two states.
‘Israel supported Ukraine in the election to the UN Security Council. Israel runs for election to the UN Security Council for 2018-2019 and counts on the support of Ukraine. We have the agreement on mutual support with Ukraine’, Elkin claimed.
Ten states are nonentity members of the UN Security Council. The election takes place every year and it defines five countries that will represent their region for two years. Israel can represent the European region in the case of the win in the election in 2018. Ukraine is the nonentity member of the UN Security Council for 2016-2017.
