The Iranian Military Prosecutor's Office announced the completion of the investigation into the downing of Ukraine International Airlines plane. This was stated by the head of the Judicial Organization of the Iranian Armed Forces, Shokrollah Bahrami, reports Radio Farda.
Now the indictment is being prepared, the case will be brought to court in the near future.
"The investigation into the crash of the Ukrainian plane was completed in the military prosecutor's office," he said.
He also added that the trial will begin after the previous trial with the presence of the defendants. At the same time, it is not yet known whether the court will be open or closed.
It should be noted that the Iranian investigation accuses ten people of involvement in the UIA plane downing, among them are top military commanders. One person is in custody.
As you know, the catastrophe occurred on the night of January 8, 2020: a Boeing 737 passenger plane belonging to UIA was shot down over the capital of Iran.
There were 176 people on board, including 55 Canadian citizens, 30 permanent residents and 53 more travelers heading to Canada, including Iranian students, as well as citizens of the UK, Afghanistan, Sweden and Ukraine.
