The police prevented the radical activists from bringing down the fence around Inter TV channel. Radio Liberty reported this on Thursday evening.
A representative of Kyiv city provision of urban amenities said that the fence is set without any legal grounds, so it has to be taken away until October 9. The activists said they’d be back to ‘check’ how the channel’s management coped with this commitment.
No clashes were reported.
Earlier today, 10-15 protesters with saws and hatchets came to bring down the fence near Inter TV channel. They said they represented the all-Ukraine association of Donbas conflict veterans.
As we reported earlier, protesters set the tyres afire near the building of Inter TV channel at Shchuseva street on September 4. Seven employees were seriously wounded, and many people in the building suffered from smoke inhalation. Police detained several protesters. Yesterday, protesters blocked the work of another their office, giving Inter TV channel 5 days to dismiss Shuvalov and stop broadcasting Russian TV series.
