It is impossible to believe in the information about newly appointed vice president and Regional Development Minister Denys Shmyhal, as Ukrayinska Pravda reports citing Ukraine's Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk.
A journalist noted the background of Shmyhal and gossips about his dependence from oligarch Rinat Akhmetov and Hocharuk responded:
"One of the lessons that I have learned is not to believe information spread toward the candidates for some positions. We have the experience, when we get to know that some people pretend or it is planned to appoint a person to a position, this person is vilified. And it is impossible to find out who is right and who is wrong. Moreover, if a person pretends for such a level, it means that he/she, usually, is successful, in other words, has some particular experience".
Honcharuk added that Denys Shmyhal received the offer as he showed himself the best among other chairs of the regional state administrations and the government has experience of work with him fo a few months.
Besides, PM said that the appointment of the vice prime minister on regional development was necessary as this year is crucial in the decentralized issue. Moreover, the economic block with the focus on investments is the priority and soon, the vice-prime minister might be appointed for these issues.
As we reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Denys Shmyhal to the post of Minister for Regional Development of Ukraine on February 4. 278 MPs supported the draft decision #2768.
The same day, the Ukrainian parliament dismissed Alyona Babak from the post of Minister for Regional Development of Ukraine. 226 MPs supported the decision. The ground for the dismissal of Babak was her persona desire.
