Servant of the People party shared their view of the first steps that are necessary to help solve the situation in eastern Ukraine. Head of the party Dmytro Razumkov said that the process, however, would be tough, as not all the politicians are interested in a fast end to the war. Interfax quoted him as saying.
Information policy would be an essential thing in this regard, he said.
"The key kind of armament in this war is information, it hits almost as hard as bullets, shells or mines... All information that the residents of Donetsk region are getting, comes from Russian TV channels. We need to bring these people back - mentally, and then get to the economic development of territories. Because our people are the main thing in this country. Territories are important, but without people, it's just territories", Razumkov stated.
His teammate Dmytro Voronov added that the party created a working committee on the reintegration of occupied territories. It would seek one decision to end the war. He added that creating the common platform "New Politics in Donbas" would let the dialogue between the government and the residents of the occupied territories begin. "The worst thing is that the people got used to living amidst the war. So there's no fast solution to end the war and, of course, there's no formula to meet the interests of all citizens, either", Voronov said.
