Experts say inflation will return to National Bank targets in 2023-2024

The consensus estimate of inflation (calculated December to December) for 2021 is 7.4% versus 6% (preliminary estimates of the consensus forecast), for 2022 - 6.6% versus 6%, respectively. This forecast was published by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture on its website.

"In 2023-2024, according to experts in Ukraine, growth will continue at 3.5% in 2023 and 3.9% in 2024, and inflation will return to the National Bank targets (5.7% in 2023 and 5,1% in 2024)", the message reads.

It is noted that the main consensus messages are: dynamism and uncertainty of the current situation both in Ukraine and in the world, which is now being formed under the influence of the pandemic factor and vaccination, introduced measures to support the economy by the authorities of different countries; the existence of a number of risks that pose a threat to sustainable growth of the domestic economy; recovery of external demand and the opportunities and limitations that Ukraine may receive in this regard; cost growth, which is now fueling inflationary processes in Ukraine and in the world, but will fade over time; the importance for Ukraine of the restoration of investment activity: sources, the role of state policy in this process and risks.
