The first stage of vaccination against coronavirus may begin in Ukraine in mid-February 2021. This was announced to the Interfax-Ukraine agency by the deputy head of the Servant of the People faction Yevhen Kravchuk after a meeting with Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov.

“We (the Servant of the People faction, - 112 International) invited Minister Stepanov to an online meeting to discuss the issue of vaccination in general and, in particular, regarding its stages. The Minister confirmed that the first stage of vaccination could begin approximately in mid-February this year. And at the first stage, according to the already adopted plan, they will vaccinate doctors who directly work with Covid patients, military personnel who are in the environmental protection zone, as well as social workers and patients of geriatric boarding houses," said Kravchuk.

According to him, at the first stage, they plan to vaccinate about 370,000 Ukrainians. The second stage "under normal course of events" can start in March. During this period, Kravchuk said, 2.5 million citizens will be vaccinated.

Earlier, it was reported that in the near future, Ukraine may receive the vaccine against Covid provided by international organization COVAX.
