As of December 15, Ukraine has exported 20,061 million tons of grain to foreign markets. That’s 880 thousand tons more than that of the last year. The press service of Ukraine’s ministry for agrarian and food policy reported that on Friday morning.
More than half of the exported crops (10,6 million tons) is wheat; corn took second place, with 5,3 million tons exported. Another 4 million tons of Ukraine-grown barley were exported to foreign markets.
The key importers of Ukrainian grain in 2016 were Egypt and certain Asian countries, such as China, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
