Climatic changes in Ukraine in 10 years may become irreversible if immediate measures are not taken. This was reported by Ukraine 24 with reference to the vice-president of the Professional Association of Ecologists Valeria Zaruzhko.
"According to experts' forecasts, if changes do not take place until 2030, then, unfortunately, the processes will be irreversible," Valeria Zaruzhko said.
She stressed the need to raise the level of environmental awareness of citizens and listed the necessary changes.
"There are changes that need to be made at the state level - the introduction of circular economy methods that have already been introduced in European countries. This will give us the opportunity not to use our natural resources, but to use raw materials that have already been used earlier, that is, we take secondary raw materials and we use it in new products. This is the first level. Secondly, we must reduce emissions into the atmosphere. We are already working on this, we have a national plan to reduce air emissions, which was signed within the framework of the Association Agreement with the EU, but unfortunately, no funds have been allocated to finance this program ", said the vice-president of the association.
Recall that in Kyiv, the average monthly air temperature in August slightly exceeded the climatic norm.
